Weldmar Hospicecare is a Dorset charity providing specialist end of life care for adults with a life limiting illness, and support for their loved ones.
Their compassionate approach supports patients and their families both at home and in the hospice. They have a dedicated team of nurses, doctors, therapists, and counsellors. Their aim is to ensure all adults needing end of life care in Dorset have access to excellent services, delivered when they are needed, meeting individual needs of patients and their loved ones.
In Weymouth, Portland, and Dorchester, the need for mental health support among young people has reached alarming levels. Two Little Birds – The Riley and Trey Foundation are passionate about:
- Raising awareness of the signs of mental health struggles
- Sharing resources so young people know where and how to get help
- Breaking the silence and encouraging open conversations
Two Little Birds – The Riley and Trey Foundation work alongside local mental health organisations to create powerful, accessible content in the form of:
- Posters
- Social media campaigns
- Resources
All of which highlight the warning signs, share local statistics and signpost support services.
The goal is simple: reach the young people who are suffering in silence and show them they are not alone. The foundation, when possible, use the funds to help young people access:
- Therapy sessions
- Activities
- Local support
- The tools to heal, grow and thrive
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) provide life-saving critical care and rapid transfers for the most seriously ill and injured people across the region. Their expert teams of consultant level doctors and specialist practitioners go above and beyond to deliver hospital-level treatment, directly at the scene of an incident.
The DSAA crews are trained to handle complex medical emergencies, offering advanced interventions such as blood transfusions, surgical procedures, sedation and anaesthesia. These interventions, combined with expert pain management, help stabilise patients in critical conditions, giving them the best chance of survival before they reach hospital.
Introducing our 2027 Matchday Charities!
Despite the weather, our 2026 event managed to raise a total of £4787.08 for our matchday charities which is an outstanding effort from the Dorset community! This amount helped to provide specialist end of life care, keep the rotors turning on the helicopter, and secured much needed support for our emergency services! - we couldn't have done it without you!
This year we have three matchday charities who would benefit from your support! Whether you're cheering on team green or team blue, be sure to come to Weymouth FC on Saturday 8th May to show your support!
